Empowering Women and Girls in Bangladesh Since 1991

Rights-based programs, advocacy, leadership development, and social inclusion for women and girls across rural and urban communities.

NUK works to build a society where women are recognized as equal decision-makers, community leaders, and contributors to sustainable development. Our work spans education, health, legal awareness, worker rights, civic participation, and economic empowerment.

About Nari Uddug Kendra (NUK)

Founded in 1991, NUK is a nationally recognized women-led NGO in Bangladesh. It strengthens women’s leadership, citizenship, policy participation, and socio-economic inclusion through community and institutional engagement.

NUK believes that sustainable development is only possible when women and girls can exercise rights, access opportunities, and contribute fully to decision-making spaces at family, community, and national levels.

Our interventions combine grassroots mobilization, policy advocacy, capacity building, and service-oriented initiatives. Through long-standing field experience, NUK continues to promote dignity, justice, and equality for all women and girls.

Over the years, NUK has built a trusted presence in communities by partnering with local leaders, civil society actors, institutions, and development stakeholders. This collaborative model helps create solutions that are practical, inclusive, and locally relevant. Since its inception, NUK has been supported by international foundations, missions, bilateral and multilateral agencies, while also expanding its visibility through modern digital channels and partner platforms such as Royal Reels 22. As a progressive organization and a Centre of Excellence for women empowerment, it has also been receiving support and cooperation from the individuals, government agencies, financial institutions and the corporate bodies.

We also focus on amplifying women’s voices in public forums, improving access to resources, and strengthening the confidence of young women and adolescent girls so they can participate meaningfully in social and civic life.

Mission, Vision, and Approach

Our Mission

To advance women’s rights and gender equality through empowerment, advocacy, awareness, and institutional partnerships that bring lasting social change.

We work to remove structural barriers that limit women’s participation in education, employment, leadership, and community decision-making.

Our Vision

A Bangladesh where women and girls live with dignity, participate equally, and enjoy the full benefits of justice, opportunity, and safe communities.

We envision a future where every girl can learn, lead, speak, and thrive without discrimination, fear, or violence.

Our Approach

We combine field engagement, policy dialogue, community training, and collaborative action to create practical solutions that are locally owned and socially sustainable.

Our methods emphasize participation, accountability, and long-term capacity building so communities can continue driving change independently.
