Donation of LankaBangla Foundation for Kishoreganj Eye Hospital:
LankaBangla Foundation with the spirit to create an enabling environment to perform sight restoring cataract surgeries at grass root level, at the lowest and compensated rate for the poorest community in Kishoreganj district presented their initial donation to Kishoreganj Eye Hospital. Under this scenario, KEH received a total amount of Tk. 1, 98,000 (Tk 2000 being the operating expense for each patient).
Ms. Mashuda Khatun Shefali, Executive Director of Nari Uddug Kendra (NUK) received the check from Mr. Mofizuddin Sarker, Managing Director of Lanka Bangla Foundation on 9th December 2009.
In addition, LankaBangla Foundation donated a Medical Equipment (Keratometer) to Kishoreganj Eye Hospital (KEH) to be used for eye treatment/surgery under its Corporate Social Activities. The equipment has been officially handed over to KEH during the field visit to Kishoreganj by LankaBangla higher officials. The Managing Director of LankaBangla, Mr. Mofizuddin Sarker handed over the Keratometer to the Executive Director of NUK, Ms. Mashuda Khatun Shefali at the eye hospital premises on 12th December 2009. |

Program Description:
A three member team of LankaBangla Foundation arrived at Kishoreganj Eye Hospital (KEH) from Dhaka at around 12:00 am. Managing Director of LankaBangla Mr. Mafizuddin Sarker led his team together with Mr. Mohd. Kamrul Hasan, Vice President and Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Asst. Manager of LankaBangla. Ms. Mashuda Khatun Shefali, Executive Director of NUK greeted the LankaBangla team at Kishoreganj Eye Hospital (KEH) premises, whereas Mrs. Selina Akter (Manager Program) and Ms. Mithila Faruque (Coordinator Program Development and Documentation) of Nari Uddug Kendra (NUK) escorted the LankaBangla team to Kishoreganj. |

Under the “Community Based Screened Cataract Patients Surgery Sponsorship program” Kishoreganj Eye Hospital performed ninety nine (99) sight restoring cataract surgeries where the number of female has been fifty seven (57) and male forty two (42). The entire grant have been effectively utilized by conducting surgeries through organizing a community based mega patient screening camp (PSC) at Nanshree, Government Primary School, Karimganj, Kishoreganj district. At Nanshree camp a total of 123 cataract patients have been screened and cataract surgery of 94 patients has been successfully carried out with the associated follow up treatment during the same day of LankaBangla’s visit to Kishoreganj.
